Was watching this vid by Jubilee Project(click here) circulated by many of my friends on FB. A sweet and simple story of a boy who meets girl and falls in love. In the video, guy chats girl up via post-it notes and when he learns that she's deaf, he told her "You're still beautiful". Yea you may go awwwwwww now coz I got teary too.

Brings me back to my sec sch days when I was friends with a hearing-impaired senior. I remembered communicating with him via little written notes and he taught me to speak with my hands (yea i actually learned how to spell the alphabets and say the national pledge in sign language!). He was always very encouraging in his letters and was like a big brother to me.

Then one day, he expressed he wanted to be more than just friends.

Being young and totally ignorant, I freaked out. I don't exactly remember what I did but we kinda stop being friends. Few months after that incident, he graduated and we lost contact.

A week ago, I met him at S'goon mrt (what are the odds right? like after 10 years). He tapped on my shoulders and said hi. Took me awhile to figure out what he was "signing" coz my sign language was a tad rusty. We caught up a little about our lives and he told me to take care and such. It's nice to bump into an old friend and then knowing how great his/her life is after all these years. Oh btw, he's happily married now and his wife is really beautiful (yea he showed me her picture) and she has perfect hearing.

Sometimes I feel, silence outperform words. It's like lying down on a lovely sandy beach, listening to the waves, with no words exchanged; yet knowing there's no awkward silence between you and the person beside. Oh, the beauty of that. Use your heart to feel, to hear, to taste, to see and to speak; and you'll be surprise how much more special and amazing things can be. :)
