Love hath no boundaries.

I grew up studying in a catholic convent school and although I didn't do 10yrs straight of being in an all girls environment(since I went co-ed during my sec school days), both my sisters did. Naturally, being surrounded by just girls/boys, there is a certain kind of "temptation" which till today, I can never understand-being gay.

I always thought my sisters were "going through a phase during their teens". Many a times, I hoped that they'll both grow out of liking girls eventually whilst studying in a co-ed environment after leaving secondary school. I thought they would reach adulthood and change. But they didn't. But I must say, no, I am not ashamed of them being lesbian. There are occasions I do get upset about not have anyone to share clothes, go shopping with, do girly stuff..and that no one's there to do my hair and pick out clothes for me when I go out on a date. I even thought there'd be a day where as an elder sister, I'd get to "interview" their boyfriends and do some "warning" talk to ensure my sisters are well-taken care of and such.

On my sisters sexuality, I get questions like "eh how come you never teach your sisters to like guys" or "how can your sisters be gay when you are straight?" or even worse, "you should introduce me to your sisters so I can ungay them". Like wtf srsly. -.- Some people just never use their brains before shooting off thoughtless comments.

I never really put much thought into the LGBT community but this campaign vid caught my emotional side. In this lifetime, it is already difficult to find somebody to love and be loved but to have the freedom to love someone of the same sex/different religion/much younger/much older etc...is even harder.

Never knew Singaporeans were that passionate. Coming from all walks of life, get together to make a statement and promote equality; giving support to their friends and family. This is really big hearted of Singaporeans. Kinda make me forget about our flaws of kiasu-ism, bad service quality, uncouth public behavior etc. Singaporeans quite cool also ah. Haha.

Whatever it is, my sisters are my family and I'll continue to love them all the same. No prejudice. I too, opened my heart today.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 )
