Finally squeezed out time to sit down in front of the com (smelling really good after a nice shower) and do some net surfing.

Was watching Adele's latest video of Someone Like You and can't help "tearing" the music video apart. As in, I kept thinking of why it was shot this way. ( intuitive media student alert )

Here's my take.

Whole video in black and white - to show that this was already in the past and there is nothing colorful about it. Adele, walking along the streets of London could very much be the last walk she had with her ex before he spilled the B word on her. Actually, I wanted to be a little more positive. Maybe she requested to be shot walking down those streets to reminisce happy dating times but if you watch the vid closely, there is no montage about her past r/s at all hence I inferred the walk as a "break-up walk". And finally at the end of the song where he turned his back and walked away from her, her almost expressionless expression leaked pain and disappointment.

Still, thanks to this dude who broke her heart then that we get to hear this awesome song now. p/s : read somewhere that her ex boyfriend actually had the cheek to ask for a cut of her royalties just coz he was somewhat her inspiration. jerk much?
