With no expectations, comes no disappointments.

How aptly true.

How many times have we wanted something so much that we crumble and get so depressed when we got nothing in the end?

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Yet, no matter how much we are taught not to put our hopes so high, we still fall back to square one. We still anticipate, we still hold countless of expectations. Why? Because we never give up hope. We always hope for the best, hope for everything to be alright, hope for happy moments. And we crush when our hopes are dashed.

Sucks to have a heart. Sucks to be a human. Sucks to have feelings. We expect because we want it our way; and when we don't get what we want, we sulk. Who's guilty? I am. We never gain contentment. We never are happy for who we are. We take things too hard. We never learn to take things slowly nor look at the bigger picture. We get angry at the slightest knowing of any disappointments. We focus too much on the now. We are selfish.

To avoid getting hurt, don't hope too much. This way, every little happiness is a bonus. Your life will be better lived this way. Take one step and a time and don't rush into things. Don't plan too ahead. Plan to be surprised. You'll feel happier and have lesser resentments. And most of all, you need to learn how to love. Actions speaks louder than words. Saying 'I Love You' everyday does not prove that you love the person. You have to compliment your sweet words with actions. Love is irrational and rational.

Love is selfless. So don't love hoping to gain anything out of it.

Love is unconditional, no?
