The ONLY downside of being a singleton is when you are a movie buff.
NO ONE TO WATCH MOVIES WITH!
Need I still have to explain that most of my friends are attached so it's more or less a common understanding that couples always go on movie dates. Town life is THAT mundane, no?
SOP of a Saturday night out for a dating pair :
Step 1 : Pick girlfriend up. Standard of living higher, people getting richer. Driving seems to be norm nowadays. Or, girls getting too baby-ish. Guy has to train/bus down ALL THE WAY to pick her up and then travel together to town.
Step 2 : Retail therapy. Why do us girls LOVE to shop so much? WHY? 为什么? I hate it when guys are obliged to hold the girl's bag while she sieves thru those designer pieces/bargain racks and after making the purchase, end up having to not only carry the girl's bag, the shopping bags as well. I'm just weird la. My bag is an accessory. My shopping bags are victory medals. I need to carry them to gain satisfaction that the $$$ I spent is worth every cent. I wouldn't say "show off" though. Never mind that I'll get tired at the end of the day just by carrying shopping bags. I just SUPER LOVE paper shopping bags. And I get rather anal about the bags just like how particular I am about my wrapped up novels. Tskk. Hate it when I get crammed up in a place. I feel that my paperbag will be crushed and not pretty anymore when I get home. Weird much huh.
Step 3 : WHERE TO EAT? ( the whole dinner saga takes about 3hrs. I kid you not. guy asks girl what to eat, girl says ANYTHING. guy says, "okay let's do thai", girl says, "huhhhhh but I don't feel like having spicy food..", guy asks again, "so what you wanna have?", girl replies, "anything lohh") Obtw, repeat process for as long as you want and there you have-Step 3.
Step 4 : MOVIE TIME. See Step 3.
Step 5 : Maybe desserts? Or after-movie programme? Yes. See Step 3. Again. -.-
Step 6 : Send girlfriend home.
Step 7 : Goodnight kiss done. Proceed long journey home alone. Sad. Lonely. Silently mumbles to self : THANK GOD FOR IPHONE. Hallelujah.
Whatever lah. I admit kayy. Obviously, there's a tinge of slight jealousy. But I don't need a guy armed with 7 steps. I need someone who loves movies as much as I do!
Wanna know my idea of a perfect date? STAY TUNED. Hur hur. 'Coz now I just wanna tell you about the movies I am dying to catch but sadly might end up going alone loh. Grrrrr.
